The Chilliwack Schools Garden Program is open to any student (public, independent and home-schooled) from Kindergarten to grade 12 in Chilliwack schools. There are three age divisions, and students can chose to plant small or regular gardens, or even container gardens. It is an excellent experience, providing children with the opportunity to reap what they sow-literally!
We welcome everyone to take pictures as they grow their gardens and send them to our webmaster (See Contact link below) so some of them can be posted to our Gallery page.
Students grow a variety of flowers and vegetables, and will have the opportunity to win prizes and participate in the Chilliwack Fair Exhibition.
Registration takes place during March and the seeds and information packages are distributed in late April and early May. The packages contain everything the students need to tend their gardens, from tips on how to prepare the soil and how to plant the seeds, to how to give their vegetables and flowers the care and attention they need to grow healthy and strong.
All of the information contained within the student packages is also available on this site. If you have any questions or concerns, please go to our Contact page.
